❤️Surgery day

Last night we prepared for surgery with "Franklin goes to the hospital" (highly recommended) and prepping the American Girl doll with ekg leads and blood pressure cuff, the hospital gown aunt Mary made. We are our own child life specialists ;) I asked if she wanted to talk about anything and what questions she had. After telling me no numerous times I finally got one question- am I getting any shots? No, no shots. Everything will be done after you are asleep and you will not feel it happen.

Kambree was surrounded by family prior to surgery and everyone was able to go back to see her in the preop room. She had us all laughing with her being silly before go time. Her father owes her forty bucks for bribing her to take her medicine and the whole OR staff is her witness! This really helped all of our spirits. Surgery went quick and everything was successful. There was a thought that she would need to be patched but the surgeon was able to stitch the hole without needing a patch. Sleepy girl was moved directly to PICU and we were able to see her three at a time there. She still has her breathing tube at 9pm because she is so sleepy. There is still a goal to remove it in the next couple of hours though. So far we love all of the OMC staff that have taken such wonderful care of our angel.  Everyone loves her doll, she's even got her own oxygen mask ready for when her tube comes out. Tomorrow will be much better, it's hard when your baby looks at you and can't communicate!  Sorry this was brief, there is a lot going on.
